DOWAGIAC — A program to help stop tooth decay will be hosted at Dowagiac Union High School.

On Feb. 6, Van Buren Cass District Health Department’s dental hygienist will be at Dowagiac Union High School offering the SEAL! Michigan Dental Sealant Program. Students will receive dental sealants on permanent morals at no cost to parents or guardians, according to a Facebook post on the high school’s page.

Dental hygienists will also be providing children with dental cleaning and assessing for any dental issues, school officials said.

If a child has dental insurance for this service, it will be billed to the insurance company.  Any amount not covered by insurance will be covered by the program. If a child does not have dental insurance, there will be no cost.

Children can pick up necessary paperwork in the main office. Parents should complete the form and send it back to the school by Feb. 4, school officials said.

Readers with any questions or concerns can contact the school nurse, Suzanne Dorman, at sdorman@dowagaicschools.org or (269) 782-4440 ext. 1129.
