VANDALIA — Saturday, a Cass County park was filled with princesses, superheroes, ghouls and more during an annual event.

Saturday, the Cass County Parks Department teamed up with Cass County 4-H and the Friends of the Cass County Parks to host Cass County’s annual Harvest Fest at Dr. T.K. Lawless Park in Vandalia. The event featured a zip line, trunk or treat, bounce houses, bonfire, pumpkin decorating, a costume contest and more.

In addition to being a family fun event, the Harvest Fest collected donations for area agencies. In lieu of an entrance fee, visitors could donate a canned good to be donated to an area food pantry. Additionally, to enter the second annual Canine Costume Contest, visitors donated an item such as food or cleaning supplies to Cass County Animal Control.

Parks Director Scott Wyman said he was pleased with Saturday’s turnout.  (Leader photos/SARAH CULTON)
