DOWAGIAC — Students and visitors to Southwestern Michigan College’s campus Saturday were transported back to the days of yore.
SMC hosted its annual Renaissance Faire from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at its Dowagiac campus. For the event, the college transformed the green space behind its student activity center into a medieval landscape filled with performers and visitors decked out in their best armor and chain mail as they feasted on turkey legs. Entertainment included live steel combat, comedic swordplay, belly dancing and an ax-throwing demonstration.
