Bobcats fall to Howardsville, South Haven

NILES — The Brandywine soccer team fell to 1-5 with a pair of home losses to Howardsville Christian on Tuesday night and South Haven on Wednesday.

Howardsville Christian defeated the Bobcats 6-0 as Jason Jergens scored three goals and Sam Nagel added a pair.

Howardsville outshot Brandywine 23-10 in the contest.

On Wednesday, South Haven blanked the Bobcats 8-0.

No further results were available from that match.

Brandywine returns to action on Tuesday as they face the 6-1 Dowagiac Chieftains on the road.

Dowagiac is coming off back-to-back shutouts against Coloma and BCS Athletic Conference team Parchment, in which they scored 17 goals (see related story below).

Cassopolis soccer

The Rangers defeated BCS Athletic Conference squad Bridgman 9-1 on Tuesday.

Scoring goals for Cassopolis were Buster Ward with three and Logan Pflug with a pair.

The Rangers outshot the Bees 39-11.
