DOWAGIAC — Dowagiac residents had a chance to connect with area resources Thursday.

Berrien RESA, which manages the federal grant, McKinney-Vento,  joined forces with the Cass County Housing Taskforce in a committee to bring Project Connect to Dowagiac Middle School from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday. Project Connect is geared toward helping connect community members with local resources. More than 22 service agencies had booths at the event including Domestic and Sexual Abuse Services, Tri-County Head Start, United Way of Southwest Michigan, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and the Cass County Council on Aging. Visitors to Project Connect could also visit a Mobile Food Pantry on site and enjoy a free lunch.
