Western Michigan lands 12 players on Steele preseason All-MAC team

KALAMAZOO — The Western Michigan football team had 12 players selected to the Phil Steele Preseason All-MAC Team.

The Broncos had five first team selections, tying Ohio for most in the conference. WMU also had five on the second team and two on the fourth team.

Senior running back LeVante Bellamy, incoming fifth-year senior wide receiver Cortez Lewis, senior tight end Giovanni Ricci, senior offensive lineman Luke Juriga and junior offensive lineman Mike Caliendo were named to the first team. Senior quarterback Jon Wassink, senior defensive lineman Wesley French, junior defensive lineman Ralph Holley, senior linebacker Drake Spears and junior punt returner Tyron Arnett were named to the second team. Senior cornerback D’Wayne Eskridge and senior safety Justin Tranquill were named to the fourth team.
