Berrien County 4-H to host market animal workshop

NILES — The Berrien County 4-H program will host Advanced SOLD!! Making the Most out of your Market Animal Project workshop. The first workshop session will be hosted from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, at the Niles District Library. The second workshop session will be hosted from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, at the same location.
Making the Most out of your Market Animal Project workshop is designed to assist youth with getting ready for their local market animal auction, organizers said. 4-H staff attendees can grow the potential profit of their 4-H market animal projects through a variety of marketing and communication strategies meant to give them a leg up on the competition.
Youth should learn how to create a buyer’s letter, creating a good thank-you response and how to avoid a communication catastrophe.
The free workshop is open to youth ages 9 to 19. Resources and materials will be provided.
Youth must pre-register for the workshop either by calling the Berrien County MSU Extension office at (269) 927-5674 or online at events.anr.msu.edu/Berrien4HSoldAdvanced, said staff. The. deadline to register is June 20 and is limited to 25 youth.
