Smith first-team All-Wolverine Conference

DOWAGIAC — Wolverine Conference champion Edwardsburg dominated the all-league softball team, which was released Thursday.

The Eddies had four players earn first-team honors, two more were second team and another was honorable mention.

Dean Dixon, of Edwardsburg, was named Coach of the Year.

Dowagiac had one player on each team

Senior Amiyah Smith was a first-team selection, freshman Sierra Carpenter was a second-team pick, and sophomore Anna Dobberstein was named honorable mention.

Smith hit .432 with 14 doubles, three triples, two home runs and 28 RBIs. She also scored 47 runs.

Carpenter hit .416 with eight doubles, a school-record eight home runs and 38 RBIs. She scored 31 runs.

Dobberstein hit .385 with five doubles, three triples and 29 RBIs.
