Berrien Springs woman dies in crash Tuesday in St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH — A 28-year-old woman from Berrien Springs died from injuries sustained in a car crash early Tuesday morning in St. Joseph, according to the St. Joseph Public Safety Department. 

At 4:38 a.m., officers of the St Joseph Public Safety Department were called to an injury accident at Port and Wayne streets. Upon arrival, officers located a single vehicle that struck a tree off the roadway.

The woman occupying the car was seriously injured and had to be extricated from the vehicle.  She was transported to Spectrum Health Lakeland where she was later pronounced deceased.

The accident is being reconstructed by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.  The name of the victim is being withheld until the family is notified.

Other agencies responding to the scene included, Medic 1 and the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.
