PAQUETTE: Working to better serve you

As you know, I was elected to serve you. As your State Representative, I advocate for you and your interests in Lansing. To best serve you, I would love the opportunity to learn more about your interests, passions and concerns. I personally feel that the best way to learn about a person is to experience what they do on a day-to-day basis.
In my role as a teacher, I focused on project-based learning which inspired me to learn by hands-on experience. Because of this, I have already toured and learned about many companies in our district. Recently, I visited NCP Coatings in Niles, along with Lyons Industries in Silver Creek Township. I learned that NCP Coatings offers environmentally friendly paint for the U.S. Forestry Service and the Department of Natural Resources. Additionally, they supply paint for U.S. Navy Vessels. When I toured Lyons Industries in Silver Creek Township I learned how they manufacture bathtubs and showers that are sold and installed across the country.
What our district offers is tremendous and, in every way I can, I want to provide and support the best legislation possible for our district. What I support and don’t support affects you, so please help me learn more about you! I am always open to meet at district coffee hours, individual meetings, or even in Lansing. However, to ensure that I am crafting legislation to meet your needs, I want to learn about your life experiences, businesses, companies and farms. The best way to understand what impacts a person, or group of people, is to learn and work side by side with them.
If possible, I would like to tour where you work to learn more about what affects you. I am seeking this hands-on experience so that I know the ins-and-outs of the people I am advocating for at the Capitol. Feel free to put me to work as well!
If this is of any interest to you, please feel free to reach out to my office at (517) 373-1796 or via e-mail at bradpaquette@house.mi.gov. I would love to meet you personally and learn more about you and your passions.
Brad Paquette, R, represents the 78th District, which covers Berrien county.
