St. Joseph uses big third quarter to knock off Buchanan 50-43

BUCHANAN — The Buchanan Bucks were outscored 16-8 in the pivotal third quarter as St. Joseph posted a 50-43 non-conference boys basketball victory Monday night.

The Bucks (5-7) trailed 22-18 at halftime, but the Bears (4-9) were able to open up a 38-26 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

Chris Young led Buchanan with 14 points, while Brad VanOverbergheadded 11 points and Logan Carson nine.

St. Joseph got a game-high 18 points from Devon Frenchko and 12 points from Ben Newland.
