BERRIEN COUNTY — Berrien County Animal Control will host four low-cost shot clinics in January and February in Buchanan, Benton Harbor and Eau Claire.

The clinics are open to both dogs and cats. Animal shelter officials said people who visit the clinics must have their pets on a leash or in a carrier for their safety.

The cost is $20 for a one-year rabies shot, $25 for a three-year rabies shot and $25 for feline/canine Distemper. People will also be able to purchase a county license at the same time and are asked to bring your license renewal form with you. Pets must be at least 1 year and 3 months old and have had a rabies vaccine prior in order to receive 3-year rabies at clinic.

PETLINK Microchips will be available on a first come first serve basis at the Jan. 12, Jan. 27 and Feb 2 clinics only. Cost is $25 and will include lifetime registration. Animal shelter officials said those interested are not permitted to pre-register for microchipping, as they are on a first come first serve basis and there are only a limited number of chips available.
