Area a Capella groups singing for Santa, a good cause

SOUTH BEND — Niles’ own a Capella chorus is ringing in the Christmas season in South Bend.

Lighthouse Chorus leaders say those who like a Capella music will love “A Capella Christmas,” a benefit performance during which three holiday Michiana choruses will join together to perform Christmas classics and more.

The Lighthouse Chorus will join two other choruses, the River Bend Sweet Adelines and the Valleyaires, in four-part harmony. All three barbershop harmony choruses, as well as chapter quartets, will perform Christmas favorites and then join together in song to welcome Santa Claus.

The show begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 at the Battell Center Auditorium, 904 N. Main St., Mishawaka.

Open-seating tickets are $12 each and can be obtained through EventBrite at Eventbrite.com/e/a-capella-christmas-tickets-51566813728. Net profits from the performance will be donated to the Beacon Children’s Hospital in South Bend.
