Robert L. Bauer, 79, of Niles, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, at Lakeland Hospital, Niles.

On Sept. 23, 1939, Robert was born to the late Robert and Doris (Hamrick) Bauer in Niles. After graduating from Niles High School, Robert served his country proudly in the U.S. Marines.

He later married Linda M. (Klute) November, 1979 in Niles.

Robert loved a good challenge and always enjoyed tinkering around with things. He adored animals of all kinds, and spent as much time as he could outdoors.

He is preceded in death by a son, Raheem Bauer, who passed only two days before him, his parents and a brother, Richard Bauer.

Surviving Robert is his wife, Linda Bauer of Niles; his children, Kim (Mike) Szymonski of Anchorage, Alaska, Toby Workman of Spring, Texas, Robert (Debra) Bauer, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona, and Brad Bauer of Niles, Michigan; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services to honor Robert and Raheem will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at Brown Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m.
