Catherine Lena Syrette, 69, of Buchanan, passed away at her home on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, with her family by her side.

Catherine was born on May 10, 1949, to the late Vernon H. and Rose Warner in Chicago, Illinois. On June 28, 1980, Catherine wed Frederick Syrette and together they raised four children. Catherine’s greatest loves in her life were her grandchildren; they always put a smile on her face. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Canada. She was also a huge fan of crafting and attending craft shows.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon H. Warner and Rose Sebert.

Catherine is survived by her husband of 38 years, Fred; children, James Jr. (Krista) Lowery, of Finland, Michael (Mellissa) Lowery, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Angela P. Lowery, of Buchanan, and Lena (Kyle) Ferrell, of Buchanan; nine amazing grandchildren; seven wonderful great-grandchildren; siblings, Virgil (Phyllis) Warner, Sam (Carolyn) Warner, David (Linda) Warner, Curt (Lita) Warner, Judy (Jim) Denno, and Sandra Warner; and many extended family members and close friends.

A time of visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service to honor Catherine’s life will be on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, at 11 at Buchanan Christian Church located at 112 West 3rd Street in Buchanan. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.
