Rita K. Schilling, 77, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at her home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 51490 Laurel Rd., South Bend, with Rev. Carl Bassett officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Clark Chapel, 405 Center St., Dowagiac. Burial Memorial contributions in Rita’s name may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Bend. Those wishing to share a condolence for the family may do so online at clarkch.com.

Rita was born Oct. 15, 1941, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, to Frank and Aleida (Strait) Moore. She graduated from New Haven High School in 1960.

On Aug. 20, 1960, she married the love of her life, William “Bill” Schilling in New Haven, Michigan. Rita enjoyed traveling to Florida every year with her husband. She loved Elvis and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Most of all she loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Rita is survived by her loving husband, Bill Schilling; children, William “Bill” (Karin) Schilling, of Portage, Ruth Ann Schilling, of Dowagiac and Debbie Schilling, of Dowagiac; grandchildren, Shelby Schilling, of Portage and Scott Groth ,of Dowagiac; great-grandchild, Faith Groth, of Dowagiac; sister, Beverly Nagengaust, of Detroit and niece, Rhonda Newson, of Detroit. Rita was preceded in death by her parents and brother Roy Moore.
