Kathy Ann Ausra, 65, of Dowagiac, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at her home.

Kathy was born Oct. 13, 1953, in Dowagiac to Thomas and JoAnn (Ruple) Ausra. She graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1971 then went on to earn an associate’s degree. Kathy proudly served her country in the United States Marine Corps from 1972 to 1978 then went on to serve in the Army National Guard. She was an avid pet lover and loved her dog Ike and cat Lucy dearly. Most of all she loved her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

Kathy is survived by her mother, JoAnn Ausra, of Dowagiac; siblings, David (Sandy) Ausra, of Edwardsburg and Susan Ausra, of Dowagiac; best friend, Beverly Banks; many Fest Sisters and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Ausra.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. A private burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek.
