CASSOPOLIS — Emily Luthringer, 17, of Dowagiac, washed and dried her goat, Rose, at the Cass County Fair Tuesday, before she competes later this week.
Luthringer said she has been competing for 11 years. She recently placed third at the Michigan Livestock and is confident she will place in the top three in her next show.
Luthringer cleans, grooms and gives her goats a feeding schedule.
“I basically pamper her,” she said. “I give her baths and fresh food and water.”
Luthringer said she also runs miles with Rose to keep her in shape.
“I literally run miles with a leash … two to four miles,” she said
