LETTER: Vote LaSata

Published 9:42 am Friday, July 27, 2018

have lived in Niles  for more than eight decades. I love the City of Four Flags and all of my friends and neighbors. On Aug. 7, I hope they join me in voting for my daughter-in-law, Kim LaSata, to be our next State Senator.

Kim has been married to our son for 25 years. She is the mother of four of our grandchildren, an educator with both a bachelor of science and master’s degree, and a terrific state representative for northern Berrien County. We are excited about having the opportunity to vote for her so that she can represent all of Berrien, Cass and Saint Joseph counties in Lansing.

During her time in the legislature she has chaired the higher education committee and been a leader within Michigan to make students safer on college campuses. She is a great listener and very responsive to the needs of the people in her district. I cannot tell you the number of times I have had people tell me that Kim’s office has helped them with a problem involving state government.

Sen. Proos has done a great job, but I am proud to finally vote for a woman for State Senate. When elected, Kim LaSata will be the first woman to represent the 21st Senate District. Considering Michigan became a state 151 years ago, I think it is about time. Please vote for Kim LaSata as your next State Senator.
