On Friday July 13, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein announced the Grand Jury indictment of twelve Russian military intelligence agents for attacking our democracy. The indictment included such activities as computer hacking, money laundering, and accessing state election board databases in attempting to discredit the Hillary Clinton Campaign.

While announcing this new set of indictments, Rosenstein characterized these Russian government agents as: “adversaries who work to exacerbate domestic differences and try to confuse, divide and conquer us.”

These indictments are not just whims, they are backed up by hard evidence that the applicable grand jury deemed suitable to issue such charges. This part of the “rule of law” in our constitutional democracy is a cornerstone of our justice system.

Nevertheless, some House Republicans are reported to be busy preparing articles of impeachment aimed at Mr. Rosenstein. The behavior of these congressional Republicans is appalling!  Where is their patriotism?

This November we need to elect someone who will speak out against the destructive and unpatriotic behavior of those Republicans, and against the destructive and unpatriotic behavior of Donald Trump, who every day is undermining the security of our country
