Buchanan plays five games in three days

BUCHANAN — The Buchanan softball team is 6-5 following a flurry of games.

The Bucks swept a pair of BCS Athletic Conference games from Comstock Thursday, winning 15-2 and 13-1.

At the Schoolcraft Tournament, Buchanan was 2-1, beating Paw Paw 6-3 and Godwin Heights 15-0 before falling to the host Eagles 5-1.

Brooklyn Krumrie and Ericka Donathen both had three doubles against Comstock, while Abby Hickok, Jayla Bibbs and Morgan Lenox all tripled. Lenox also had a pair of doubles.

Against Paw Paw, Donathen and Lenox both doubled for the Bucks, while against Godwin Heights, Emma Lozmack had a pair of doubles, while Megan Adkerson, Hickok, Lenox and Kaitlyn Lukkarila also doubled.

The Bucks only got one game of their BCS Athletic Conference doubleheader in on Thursday.

But the result was a 6-3 victory for Buchanan, which improved to a win.

Jacob Hoover went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs for the Bucks.

Also picking up hits for Buchanan were Dedrick Adkerson, Dylan Colglazer, Brandon Rogers, Adeen Harrington and Kade Hearington.

Hoover was the winning pitcher as he worked into the sixth inning, allowing four hits with 12 strikeout.

Colglazer pitched the final inning and two-thirds, allowing one run on two hits with a pair of strikeouts.
