NILES — A trio of Brandywine players and one Buchanan player were named to the first-team of the All-BCS Athletic Conference Red Division girls basketball team, which was released Monday.

Zakiyyah Abdullah, Nicole Sachman and Kennedy Byrd were first-team selections for the Bobcats, while Jayla Bibbs was also selection from Buchanan.

Red Division champion Comstock also had three players named to the first team.

They were Red Division Most Valuable Player Daisy Ansel, Ahkyla Blakely and Abby House.

Also on the first team were Kyrah Sanders of Berrien Springs and Lauren Keller of Bridgman.

Buchanan had a pair of honorable selections in Brooklyn Krumrie and Morgan Lenox.

Brandywine’s Megan Schmidt was also an honorable mention selection.

The Colts finished the BCS Red Division season at 10-0, while Brandywine was second at 8-2 and Buchanan third at 6-4.

White Division champion Michigan Lutheran (12-0) dominated the all-division team with five players on the first team.

Runner-up New Buffalo and third-place team River Valley each had a pair of first team players, as did Lake Michigan Catholic and Covert.

Michigan Lutheran’s Sarah Jackemeyer was named the MVP of the All-White Division squad.
