Vikings swept by Lancers, Bobcats rout Comstock

STEVENSVILLE — Visiting Niles was swept in a pair of SMAC West Division basketball games Friday night.

The Viking girls team wrapped up the regular season with a 51-49 loss to the Lancers.

The Niles boys basketball team dropped yet another close contest, falling to Lakeshore 40-32.

Alycia Patterson led Niles and all scorers with 23 points, while Alexis Rauch added eight points. Reese Davies and Caitlin Daly each finished with six points.

Niles hosts Buchanan in the Class B district opener at 7 p.m. Monday.

Robert Brown again led the Viking boys team as he finished with 10 points.

Chad Barton added six.

Niles head to Edwardsburg for a non-conference contest Tuesday night.

The Brandywine boys basketball team defeated Comstock 64-38 Friday night.

The Bobcats, who were led by Jaden Croom’s game-high 16 points, outscored the Colts 53-25 over the final three quarters of the contest.
