Joan Marie Guthrie, 71, of Niles, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 at her home.
She was born July 26, 1946, in Niles, to the late Guy and Gladys (Regenos) Walls. Joan liked gardening, house plants, and talking to her friends.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Ann (Pete) McOmber of Niles, MI; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Winnie Yu) McOmber of Westfield, Indiana, Ashley McOmber of South Bend, and Alexander McOmber of Niles.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Gladys; husbands, James Robert Welch, Frederick Roy Guthrie; brother, Robert Leroy Walls; sisters, Elizabeth Tarr, and Donna Eisenhart.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Joan will be held by the family at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2017 at Summit Church, 1700 W. River Rd., Niles, MI 49120, with Pastor Dan Miller officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Niles District Library, 620 E. Main St., Niles, MI 49120.
