NILES — With the theme “Rolling Out the Red Carpet for The Hunter Ice Festival,” the eight contestants in the Miss Niles scholarship pageant are preparing to put on one “cool” show for audience members.

Eight contestants will vie for the title of Miss Niles, with up to four contestants filling out a court that will represent the City of Four Flags throughout the year at various regional events, parades and pageants.

Miss Niles will go on to compete against several other community queens from throughout southwest Michigan for the title of Miss Blossomtime in March.

The annual scholarship pageant will take place at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., Sunday at Niles High School, 1441 Eagle St. in Niles. Tickets cost $20. For more information, visit facebook.com/pg/missnilesorganization/about.
