Fernwood Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve to host Cracker Jack exhibit

NILES — Fernwood Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve will host an exhibit “Cracker Jack: Toys Across Time” from Dec. 8 to Jan. 21 at 13988 Range Line Road, Niles.

The exhibit is aimed at reviving a nostalgia for young and old. The exhibit will display Cracker Jack prizes and memorabilia galore from 1900 to the present. A special showing of Theresa Richter’s Cracker Jack collection will be available for viewing.

Additionally, Richter will talk about her collection at Fernwood at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14.

Cracker Jack is an American brand of snack consisting of molasses-flavored, caramel-coated popcorn and peanuts, well known for being packaged with a prize inside.

Fernwood Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve Fernwood is a place where nature blends with gardens and art to create an experience of wonder for all ages. Fernwood comprises 105 acres on the St. Joseph River. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
