Buchanan Area Senior Center to host Christmas Bazaar Saturday

The Buchanan Area Senior Center will host its annual Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Saturday, Dec. 2, at the senior center, located at 810 Rynearson St. in Buchanan.

At the bazaar, senior crafters will have the opportunity to sell their handiwork.

This year, the senior center has 18 vendors offering a variety of items. Jams and jellies, crocheted, knitted, and sewn crafts, Christmas decorations, jewelry, stocking stuffers, and more will be available. A sloppy joe fundraiser luncheon will be served for $5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and takeout is available. Door prizes donated by the vendors will be drawn and a raffle will be offered for a chance to win a quilt, afghan, or fleece blanket.

In addition to craft items, the center will be selling Christopher Radko blown glass ornaments, donated by Tim Robinson from Tiffany Florist in Birmingham, Michigan.

The ornaments are hand-blown by European craftsmen in tempered glass for durability, lined with sterling silver for luminescence, and hand painted. These ornaments will be displayed on the center’s Christmas tree and available to purchase for 50 percent off suggested retail price. Proceeds will benefit programming at the senior center.

The Buchanan Area Senior Center invites people to bring friends and family to check out the bazaar and support the programs that benefit local seniors.

The Buchanan Area Senior Center is a community focal point on aging, where area older adults come together for services, programs, and activities that reflect their experiences and skills, respond to their diverse needs and interests, enhance their dignity, support their independence, and encourage their involvement with the community and this center,  representatives said. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call (269) 695-7119 or visit the center’s Facebook page.
