An 80-year-old Sawyer man died in a single-car crash in Berrien Township at 8:40 a.m. Nov 25, according to the Berrien County Sherriff’s Department.

The crash occurred when James Braddock was driving a 2005 Lexus west on Long Lake Road and the vehicle left the roadway, hit a large tree and came to a final rest near Rangeline Road.

Officers who responded to the scene found Braddock deceased and extensive damage to the vehicle.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit was activated. The crash remains under investigation. The weather does not appear to be a factor.
