Authorities responded to a single car crash that occurred in front of 201 N. Red Bud Trail at noon Friday.

The crash happened when and man and his wife and 26-year-old daughter were traveling south on Red Bud Trail in a Honda Pilot. The father was driving and attempted to make a left turn into Lehman’s Orchard Brewery & Farm House when he reportedly passed out. The car left the roadway and crashed into a city sign and two light poles on the east side of Wesner Automotive, before flipping on the driver’s side.

Buchanan Police Patrolman Dave Capron said the occupants were all wearing seat belts and that no one appeared to have sustained any life-threatening injuries.

“They were all conscious, breathing and talking,” Capron said. “Witnesses saw them veer off the road.”

Capron said the incident did not involve drugs or alcohol.

The mother and father were transported by SMCAS ambulance to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. Capron said the daughter did not need medical care and was expected to meet her parents at the hospital.

The Buchanan Fire Department also responded to the call.
