A-1 Auto Transport, Inc., one of the nation’s largest auto shippers, is encouraging Niles students to take the opportunity to apply for a $1,000 scholarship.

The company recently opened its college scholarship to students in Michigan. The company has offices in major metro cities from coast to coast and offers local and worldwide shipping options for all types of motor vehicles.

Joe Webster, the marketing director at A-1 Auto Transport, Inc. said that one student will be awarded with a scholarship of $1,000 to help with the cost of college.

“After working in this area for so many years now, we are proud to be able to give back a little by helping a student as they move forward into college.” Webster said.

Entries will be accepted on a rolling basis from now until the deadline March 10. To enter, students must be enrolled in an accredited school, have a 3.0 minimum GPA and must write a 1,000-word minimum essay/article based on a topic of interest in the auto transport industry.

“Essays can be written about car shipping, motorcycle shipping, overseas auto transport and essentially all other subjects that pertain to shipping a car, truck, SUV or other vehicle to any location in the world,” Webster said. “We currently have an entry shown on our website from a student who wrote about A-1 Auto Transport and a Disney Pixar movie, so as you can see, we are looking for a broad range of topics with this. Students can be creative, and we look forward to seeing what they have.”

A winner will be announced on the website and by email by the end of March 2018.
