Berrien County Cancer Services will host the annual Art Festival from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14 at the Box Factory for the Arts, 1101 Broad St., St. Joseph.

The event will include art displays, interactive art projects for the entire family, professional face painting, live music, a silent auction and refreshments.

The purpose is to raise awareness regarding the impact of cancer on the family and to invite the community to show support in a way that is fun for the entire family.

When a family has a health crisis, the entire family is affected, particularly the children who may not be able to express their emotional needs. As a support group for children and families impacted by cancer, the organization is seeking to bring local artists and children together in a way where art can be used as an expression of feelings. At the end of the year, the organization showcases the art that is created and invite the community to support families impacted by cancer.

The Berrien County Cancer Service (BCCS) has been making a difference in the lives of people with cancer since 1948. Its mission is to provide compassionate in home skilled nursing care and supportive resources for those affected by cancer or related illnesses in Southwest Michigan. All of the services are at no cost to those we serve. BCCS is a local organization that is not affiliated with any national or state organizations. Funding is provided by United Way of Southwest Michigan, various fund-raisers throughout the year, and generous contributions from the community.
