Fernwood Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve hosts Halloween bash Oct. 28

Fernwood Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve is calling all ghosts, ghouls, and witches to its Halloween bash, which will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Community members are invited to dress in their best costume and join Fernwood to celebrate with activities and treats for the entire family.

Activities this year will include multiple trick or treating stations in the garden, a fire pit and s’mores station, a spooky craft, Halloween stories and more. Apple cider, hot cocoa, cookies and more will be available for purchase.

Co-Alliance is the 2017 Halloween Happening lead sponsor. Supporting sponsors include Baroda Tire Too, RMC Quality Construction, Redbud Insurance, and Wolverine Electric.

Fernwood is a place where nature blends with gardens and art to create an experience of wonder for all ages, owners said. Fernwood comprises 105 acres on the St. Joseph River near Buchanan, at 13988 Range Line Road, Niles.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Café hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 3 p.m.
