Fernwood gardens celebrates HOWL-O-ween

The public is invited to celebrate Halloween with their favorite canine at Fernwood for four very special hours only, when dogs are allowed on the grounds.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.

There will be an opportunity to shop from local vendors and talk with representatives from specialty organizations, participate in the costume contest, and guided hikes.

Event sponsors are Pets Connect, Echo Club, Inc., and University Park Veterinary Hospital.

Vendors and specialty organizations include, All 4 Animals Rescue, Michiana Humane Society, Pawmart and Wagging Wishes.

Regular admission fees apply, plus $5 per dog. Cost includes a custom Fernwood bandana. Register online at fernwoodbotanical.org

Fernwood is a place where nature blends with gardens and art. Fernwood is comprised of 105 acres on the St. Joseph River near Buchanan, Michigan, at 13988 Range Line Road, Niles. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. 

Café hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 3 p.m. Sunday.
