The Chorllennium Singtoberfest concert, which will be Saturday, marks the debut performance by an ensemble Southwestern Michigan College Director of Choral Activities David Carew assembled.

The evening begins with hors d’oeuvres at 7:30 p.m., followed by the concert at 8 p.m. in the Student Activity Center of the Charles O. Zollar Building on SMC’s Dowagiac campus.

The program will be comprised of traditional choral music, as well as soloists and small groups singing classical (opera arias and arts songs) and musical theatre.

Chorllennium is a professional choral collective comprised of the area’s top educators and singers with extensive vocal training.

Carew said it is designed to provide professional-quality performance with minimal rehearsal, appealing to active working musicians.

Repertoire selected for performance will represent all style periods of traditional Western classical music from the last thousand years.

There is no charge. Donations will be accepted at the door.
