BRIDGMAN — The public is invited to attend the annual Government Day luncheon hosted by the Berrien County Republican Women’s Club.

The luncheon will take place at noon Wednesday, Oct. 18 at Pebblewood Restaurant, 9794 Jericho Road, in Bridgman.

Student representatives and their sponsors from Berrien County high schools are invited as guests of the Club.  Author Chriss Lyon will speak on “A Killing in Capone’s Playground: The True Story of The Hunt for the Most Dangerous Man Alive.”

Chriss is Shift Supervisor of the Berrien County 9-1-1 and Public-Safety Communication Center. She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University’s Film/Video School and has worked behind the scenes at CNN Headline News. She has also made an appearance in an episode of the PBS series, “History Detectives.”

Chriss will describe techniques of forensic genealogy combined with investigative research, which was employed to discover historical facts about the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre on Dec. 14, 1929.
