His vehicle crossed into the opposite lane of traffic, where it was struck broadside by a large grain hauling truck driven by 23-year-old Conner Wright, of Vandalia.

First responders declared Dolan dead at the scene. Wright was not injured in the crash.

Police say that both men were wearing seatbelts at the time. Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash.

Three arrested in connection with stolen motorcycle, vehicle

DOWAGIAC — Three people were taken into police custody Saturday after authorities recovered a stolen motorcycle from a Cassopolis residence, as well as a vehicle reported stolen in Kansas, at a Dowagiac gas station, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies with the department were called around 3:30 p.m. Saturday to investigate a complaint that a motorcycle had been stolen from the 26000 block of M-60 in Cassopolis. A short time later, a deputy on patrol outside the city of Dowagiac located the stolen bike at the Marathon Gas Station located at the intersection of M-51 and M-152. Authorities arrested a man in connection with the theft at the scene.

Police also found a vehicle at the gas station that was connected to the theft of the motorcycle. The deputies learned that this vehicle was reported stolen from a resident in the state of Kansas. Two women — an adult and a juvenile — were arrested in connection to the theft at the scene as well.

The two adults are being lodged in the Cass County Jail, while the juvenile was turned over to the Cass County Probate Court. Police are withholding the names of the two adult suspects until they are arraigned in Cass County District Court.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, and said that additional charges may be pending.

Officers with the Pokagon Tribal Police Department assisted deputies during the incident Saturday.
