Bridgman police are investigating a possible murder suicide which occurred the afternoon of Sept. 16 and left two people dead of suspected gunshot wounds, according to the Bridgman Police Department.

Donald James Ackerman, 63 and Pamela Sue Ackerman, 67, were discovered deceased at 9753 Baldwin Road in Baroda.

Family notified police to check on the welfare of the victims as they had not been heard from in several days.

Upon entering the residence for the welfare check, authorities found the victims deceased.

A preliminary investigation indicates possibly murder-suicide. The incident remains under investigation and autopsies will be performed in the next few days.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Technicians were requested to assist our department in the investigation.
