Attempted murderer arrested in Edwardsburg

Edwardsburg — A routine traffic stop ended with the arrest of an attempted murderer in Edwardsburg Tuesday, according to the Edwardsburg/Ontwa Township Police Department.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, police pulled over a motorcycle for an expired plate.

When asked, the driver of the motorcycle gave numerous false names to the police.

After more than an hour of investigation, an officer identified the driver as a man with a valid warrant for his arrest for first degree attempted murder in Maryland.

The suspect was taken into custody on local charges of resisting and obstructing police, not having a license or insurance. The suspect is currently lodged in Cass County Jail awaiting arraignment.
