Suspects identified in stabbing case

Authorities have released the names of the two suspects who have been charged in connection with the stabbing of a Dowagiac man Friday, according to the Dowagiac Police Department.

Joshua Warren Procter and Autumn Marie Parsons, both of Dowagiac, were arraigned in Cass County District Court earlier this week, where they were charged on the following counts:

• Conspiracy to assault with intent to murder

• Assault with intent to commit murder

• Conspiracy to commit assault with intent to rob while armed

• Assault with intent to rob while armed

• Conspiracy to commit assault with intent to rob while unarmed

• Assault with intent to rob while unarmed

• Conspiracy to commit assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder

• Assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder

• Conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon

• Assault with a dangerous weapon

• Conspiracy to lie to a peace officer

Autumn Parsons

• Lying to a peace officer.

Proctor is currently being held at the Cass County Jail on $250,000 cash or surety bond, while Parsons is being held on $100,000 cash or surety bond.

The pair was arrested Monday on suspicions of stabbing a Dowagiac man multiple times, during an incident on Jefferson Street near Paris Street late last week. Police say the attack was related to drug dealing.

Police learned of the incident after the victim was admitted to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital for his wounds Friday. The man was treated for his injuries and was later released.
