In August, 31 students from MKSOD Dance studios in Niles, Dowagiac and Decatur travelled to New York City. All of these students are a part of the Positively Dance team.

The students from all over southwest Michigan had the opportunity to take a dance class with a cast member from the Broadway show “Aladdin” before seeing the show later that evening along with their families. The students also attended a dance workshop with a member of the Rockettes and took a tour of Radio City Music Hall. Positively Dance performed their own show at Castle Clinton in Battery Park as well.

Even with their busy dance schedule, the students and their families still had the time to do some sightseeing. They visited many well-known places including Central Park, Times Square, the 9/11 Memorial, and the Statue of Liberty.

Each family thoroughly enjoyed their trip, and would like to thank their communities for their continued support throughout the year while the dancers fundraised and prepared for their trip.
