LANSING — Sen. John Proos will host a tele-town hall meeting on Tuesday to discuss several topics concerning southwest Michigan residents and listen to their priorities for the future.

A tele-town hall meeting is a telephone conference call in which residents can speak to and ask questions of Proos. It is the latest in a series of tele-town halls Proos has held during his time in the legislature.

More than 1,800 residents participated in the senator’s previous meeting.

“I believe that listening to the hardworking people you represent is a vital and irreplaceable part of being a good public servant,” said Proos, R-St. Joseph. “For several years, I have used this technology each fall to give thousands of southwest Michigan families and job providers a forum to hear about what we have been doing and to express their viewpoints without having to leave home.”

During the tele-town hall, Proos will answer questions from residents and discuss many topics, including keeping Michigan children in the state with the right career outlook; career and technical education; auto insurance reform; and Proos’ upcoming Vietnam veteran lapel-pinning ceremony at the St. Joseph County Grange Fair on Sept. 22.

The tele-town hall will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Residents wishing to participate may join the meeting by calling (877) 228-2184 and entering ID Code 113349.

“I look forward to answering questions from area residents and to get their feedback about how we can continue to improve our state,” Proos said.
