JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP -A South Bend man was injured in a single car crash in Jefferson Township, according the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the crash at 7:21 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24 at Conrad Road near Tiara Drive in Jefferson Township.

The crash occurred when a vehicle driven Mian Mazak, 20, of South Bend, Indiana, was northbound on Conrad Road. He lost control of his vehicle and crashed into some nearby trees.

Mazak was extricated from his vehicle by the fire department and EMS, before being transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Deputies have determined that Mazak was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and that alcohol and drugs were not a factor. However, the crash remains under investigation at this time.
