A 40-year-old Niles woman was injured in an accident that occurred Monday evening on Old US 31 near Snyder Road.

At 8:17 p.m., Berrien County deputies were dispatched to a personal injury accident where a motorcycle crashed in to a truck pulling a trailer.

The accident happened when two motorcycles were attempting to pass the truck and trailer. The truck and trailer turned left in to a private drive. This caused one motorcyclist to lay her bike down and slide into the trailer the truck was pulling, according to police.

The female motorcyclist sustained injuries and was transported by Medic One to Lakeland Hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time and the incident is still under investigation.
