Earlier Tuesday, police announced that they had identified the body of the female who was murdered Friday evening as Angela Glara Cluver, 52. Cluver was Huffman’s girlfriend , who was a resident at 996 S. 14th St., where her body was found.

Police suspect that Cluver’s cause of death was strangulation, which should be confirmed during an autopsy later Tuesday, according to a statement from the Niles City Police.

Her body was in an advanced state of decomposition when found and could not be initially confirmed by police.  Cluver was later identified by her fingerprints.

Huffman confessed the crime to police Monday morning at the Niles Law Enforcement Complex. Huffman told the dispatcher that he had committed a crime and wanted to turn himself in.

The dispatcher believed that Huffman was turning himself in on a warrant and ran the subject through the law enforcement information network but did not find any warrants for the individual.

Detectives then spoke with the Huffman, who confessed to killing a female inside the residence at 996 S. 14th St. Officers immediately responded to the residence where they located a deceased female inside.

A search warrant was obtained allowing evidence technicians from the Niles Police Department and Michigan State Police to enter the residence in order to collect necessary evidence of the crime.

A pre-exam is expected to follow the arraignment, the date for which has not been announced.
