The Brass Eye hosted a tap takeover Thursday evening in conjunction with downtown Niles’ Third Thursday celebration, drawing dozens to Third Street to eat food from Jim’s Smokin’ Cafe and sample beer from Grand Armory.

The craft brewery, which is based in Grand Haven, Michigan, offered five different types of beer, including chocolate, raspberry and peanut butter beers.

Grand Armory brewer Sean Alexander said a popular mix was fusing the peanut butter and raspberry beer, creating a drink similar to peanut butter and jelly.

Alexander commended the partnership with the local bar.

“The Brass Eye is doing a fantastic job,” Alexander said. “This is my first time visiting [Niles] but not my last.”
