Honor Credit Union is counting down the days to Ed’s Open Header Cruise for the Cause, and is encouraging the community to get involved.

In honor of the late Ed Kazlauskas, local business owner and brother of Dowagiac Honor Credit Union Branch Manager Janie Reifenberg, all proceeds from Ed’s Open Header Cruise for the Cause will benefit the Cass County Cancer Service. Kazlauskas was instrumental in starting Dowagiac’s Rod and Roll Classic Auto Show, and the open header cruise pays homage to the legacy he has left in his hometown.

Honor Credit Union is supporting Ed’s Open Header Cruise by contributing to its mission to raise funds for the Cass County Cancer League. There is a coupon in select issues of the Dowagiac Daily newspaper that can be redeemed at Honor Credit Union’s Dowagiac branch.

For every person who brings in a coupon, Honor Credit Union will donate $5 to the Cass County Cancer Service and the coupon redeemer will earn one entry to win a gift basket that includes a $100 Visa gift card.

Scheduled for Thursday, July 27, participants will meet at 5:30 p.m. at Thomas J. Mosier Well Drilling in Cassopolis and will cruise to downtown Dowagiac. Coinciding with the Beckwith Concert Series, cruise participants can look forward to live music by band Rum Boogie and a cookout in the park.
