Beckwith Theatre to present ‘Pippin’

The Beckwith Theatre will present the multiple Tony award-winning musical, “Pippin,” Aug. 11-13 and Aug. 18-20.

Show times will be at 7:30 p.m. for Friday and Saturday performances and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets cost $15 and may be purchased at the box office at the time of the performance.

A mysterious performance troupe tells the story of Pippin, a young prince searching for the secret to true fulfillment in the glories of the battlefield, temptations of the flesh and intrigues of political power.

The book the play is based on is by Roger O. Hirson. Music and lyrics are by Stephen Schwartz.

The show was originally produced by Stuart Ostrow, and directed on the Broadway stage by Bob Fosse.

An opening night wine reception is sponsored by Domaine Berrien Cellars.
