Porter Township – The Cass County Sheriff’s is investigating a single car that took place of Rainbow Road near Glendon Road on Saturday.

The crash took place between 4 or 5 a.m. Saturday. Deputies believe the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, resulting in the car leaving the roadway into a wooded embankment. The vehicle overturned, trapping two occupants inside the vehicle.

EMS and Fire personnel were able to extract the occupants, Krystal Tyler, 28, of Three Rivers, and Rebecca Mallo, 27, of Cassopolis, from the vehicle without incident.

Mallo was treated and released at the scene, while Tyler was transported to Three Rivers Hospital for further treatment.

Both Mallo and Tyler indicated that a third person was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, but left the scene.

An initial investigation shows alcohol was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
