An Edwardsburg man died in a fatal car accident Sunday morning, according to the Ontwa Township Edwardsburg Police Department.

Officers responded to the crash at 12:28 a.m. Sunday, on U.S. 12 near Carter Road, where they found a motorcycle helmet in the roadway.

The driver of the motorcycle Joshua Pethick, 33, of Edwardsburg, died at the scene.

Officers believe Pethick was driving westbound at a high speed, hit the guardrail, was thrown from the bike and landed in the ditch.
