Softball teams claims championships

- The Lakeshore Pirates defeated the Michigan Momentum to capture the 2017 NSA Michigan state championship in East Lansing. The two teams posed together for a photo following the title game. The Lakeshore Pirates defeated the Michigan Momentum 06 to capture the Michigan NSA state softball championship in East Lansing June 18.
The Pirates went 5-0 for the tournament and defeated the Momentum 5-4 in the championship game.
Inferno win at Eaton Park
The Niles-Brandywine 8U Inferno captured their second straight championship as it won the Eaton Park Invitational over the weekend.
The Inferno defeated Buchanan 11-1, Penn Park 11-9, Buchanan 20-12 and Penn Park 18-8 in the championship game.
The Inferno will compete in the Berrien Springs Tournament this weekend.
